Economy

Brussels Economy and Employment financially assists companies and associations:

  • it grants incentives to investment, consultancy, training...and controls the respect of the conditions, which go hand in hand with the granting of these premiums

  • it also awards "discretionary subsidies" to companies or organizations that support the economy in the Region

  • It organizes the central board examinations for accessing certain professions and provides advice to accredited business counters.

  • It grants authorizations to travel agencies in the Brussels-Capital Region.

  • It registers tourist accommodation in the Brussels-Capital Region

Brussels Economy and Employment also provides support for businesses in the agri-food sector (food analysis and provision of advice to small businesses developing new food products (Brucefo laboratory).

Employment

Brussels Economy and Employment helps to develop employment and supports the social or plural economy. As such, BEE ensures a number of roles:

  • handling requests for work permits and professional cards for foreign workers

  • inspection of companies regarding compliance with legislation concerning the use of foreign workers

  • authorization of private employment agencies (temping, recruitment and selection, outplacement) and verification that legal obligations are observed

  • authorization and funding of placement companies and initiatives developing employment

  • authorization of service voucher companies

  • inspection of private employment agencies and service voucher companies

  • handling requests for reimbursement for paid educational leave and for the Fund for Professional Experience

  • granting subsidies to projects aimed at supporting employment

  • to Brucefo (from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 17:00 at the Boulevard Industriel, 200).
