European support programs for R&D and innovation

With Horizon 2020, the EU wants to increase Europe's competitiveness by promoting science and innovation.   It has been running since January 1, 2014, and is the successor of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).

Any company that does research in an international context, or is involved in technological development and innovation, can participate in the program. In addition to sharing knowledge and expertise, Horizon 2020 also provides funding for an innovative project.

The European Commission has provided € 80 million for the program in the period between 2014 and 2020.

Additional information, advice, and free expert guidance can be obtained at the Brussels national contact point (NCP Brussels) and with Enterprise Europe Brussels.
